Setting foot on the Antarctica continent for the first time at Brown Bluff with huge blue and white icebergs all around and Adele and Gentoo penguin colonies and fur seals and the glaciers and ice shelves all around. It was everything and more than I expected.

Every day brought a new highlight - tagging the Minke whale, seeing a baby king penguin creep out from under his mom, watching other penguin chicks being fed, seeing an iceberg calve...so much. Everyone on the cruise was quite friendly.

Seeing the whales and penguins up close was one of the many highlights. Finally standing on the Antarctica continent. There were a large diversity of passengers from all over the world. Great fun-loving people. The biggest surprise was having the opportunity to see schools of whales swimming together and being so close to them. This was a magical moment.

Observing wildlife in their natural habitat. Penguins are hilarious!! Increased understanding and respect for the need to limit human impact on the environment and ecology. Sadness at witnessing the impact of avian flu (mass mortality of seals).
