Why we like the Greg Mortimer

  • The first expedition ship to pioneer the groundbreaking X-BOW technology, it will pierce waves making for a smoother overall voyage
  • We love the fact that in spite of being crammed with technology, this petite ship carries an average of 132 passengers, ensuring an intimate atmosphere and smooth landing operations".
  • 80% of the cabins benefit from having outer balconies and all are spaciously proportioned, ranging from 180 - 385 square feet
  • A panoramic observation deck with floor to ceiling windows and spacious outer decks means you’ll never miss out on the action wherever you are on the ship
  • For active travellers, optional activities are available: kayaking, camping, snowshoeing, scuba diving & polar snorkelling

The Greg Mortimer provided first class accommodations in my private cabin. There were fine dining choices, perhaps too many, as I was concerned about wasting food. Definitely would recommend this ship. Read the full review

It's good to take a exhibition trip on a purpose-built ship. Everything about the ship is designed to make expeditions (kayak, zodiac cruising, whale-watching etc.) easy. The food was surprisingly good, with many choices, each expertly prepared. We were surprised that there were so many fresh vegetables and fruit. Read the full review

The expedition team were incredible! Flo made every day an adventure, kept us up to date on the various options for each day (everything is dependent on the weather); Dan, Frank and Eamon on the kayak team were so knowledgeable and shared so much information; Lauren and Dot were my two favorite of the zodiac drivers and you could always count that Sergey was listening to the conversation in the boat and then changing his path from there. They really made the trip incredible. Read the full review

Edwin and Liz were great with the snorkeling team. It's tough seeing things underwater given the visibility and the speed with which the animals move but I did get some good videos of penguins swimming underwater.
