If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?
Fine - but I really disliked the over-enthusiastic corporate e mails counting down to my departure. I really don't like being told how excited I must be getting or the over use of word of corporate enthusiasm ( same on board was also a little annoying). The specific service I had was fine, but I did feel some of the answer were a bit rushed and did not cover all the points I had made. Often they were address in the second round of e mails! However this is NOT unique to Swoop.
How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?
Very interesting, especially seeing the older base stations. Did not see that much wildlife. Media zodiacs seemed to see more, and we did return early so did not see bigger penguin colonies.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I enjoyed the remoteness and the quietness.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Take layers (I did!)
Is there anything you would recommend we change to make trips like yours more environmentally sustainable?
I think you have limped options - but your should think about the CO2 footprint of the ship. Also it was announced we would observe WWF Earth Hour by dimming lights, but at the moment nothing was done.
