Overall, how was your trip?

The highlight was seeing hundreds of thousands of king penguins in South Georgia. The glaciers and icebergs were breathtaking. Was wonderful to see whales, but I most enjoyed the many and playful fur seals. Great group of fellow travelers. Very enjoyable to get to know people from other countries. No surprises.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

Antarctica is a magnificent and exciting destination.

Would you visit again?

No

You chose a/an South Georgia, Antarctica and Falklands Luxury Explorer experience. How was that experience?

The ship more than met my expectations. The staff was superb, the food was excellent, and the cabins outstanding.

You chose to do {category.title} on this voyage. How was that experience?

The kayaking guides did a great job and it felt very safe. The highlight was being so close to whales. It was somewhat stressful and strenuous, so I recommend it only for people who are very fit.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

We were delighted with the 2 free nights at the Arakur Hotel in Ushuaia. We made our own flight arrangements. We did get all the travel documents we needed.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

It was exciting to take a zodiac so close to some icebergs and to see seals on the ice, lots of fur seals and penguins, and whales nearby. Because it was so cold, some of the zodiac cruises seemed too long (2 hours). The expedition staff was great, very knowledgeable, friendly and peppy.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Has not changed my perspective.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

No

Is there anything you would recommend we change to make trips like yours more environmentally sustainable?

No
