On South Georgia, 5 gentoo penguins approached me. I stopped and stood still. They continued towards me and stopped a few feet away looking at me. After a couple of minutes they continued on their way taking care of whatever penguin business they had.

The trip to Antarctic allowed me to see the part of the world that is far far away from us. And the trip also allowed me to think the environmental connections of our life to that part of the world.

Humpback and Minke whales surfacing close to ship and zodiacs. They seemed as curious and interested in us as we were in them.
