Overall, how was your trip?

One day one of the receptionists at the front desk was hurried and terse. Other than that one incidence the trip was a 10 out of 10. I enjoyed like-minded travelers, learned from the experts, loved the food and service and had fun, rest and a million smiles everyday!

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

I found the scenery to be awesome and the silence to be breathtaking. The staff on the ship were kind and helpful and the food was delicious!

Would you visit again?

Maybe

How was the service that Swoop provided?

The Swoop Travel Team was amazing. As this was my first ocean cruise and a big one at that, I didn't even know how to begin. I lucked out finding Loli who assured me she could help arrange this. She listened carefully to what was important to me and then gave me two options to consider. She assisted with the pros and cons list. After deciding the others on the team jumped in and helped get me through payments, other travel arrangements etc....always quick to respond to my inquiries.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

The "experts" were also piloting the zodiacs so we got extra info while traveling to the landing. They were flexible and most willing to share their knowledge.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Sorry I keep losing my comments???? Back to zodiac...for the third time: The "experts" were also piloting the zodiacs and were flexible and willing to share their knowledge on the way to the landings....we were lucky to have 11 excursions and all were wonderful. Most favorite was my personal encounter with a Minke Whale, who spent 30 minutes among our zodiacs and came up close enough for me to see eye to eye! Of course, the time the baby penguin came up and bit my boot was fun as well.

Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)

The boat also exceeded my expectations...the room was lovely, the gym, the dining options, the wine, the service....they ran a "tight ship" with aplomb!

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

The scary lecture by Alice about plastics and the environment encouraged me to give up plastics for Lent!

Is there anything you would recommend we change to make trips like yours more environmentally sustainable?

Less plastics?
