What was your most memorable moment?
Having a Humpback whale swim around our zodiac for 20 minutes while getting great video above and below water of the gentle giant.

Tell us about the wildlife
Amazing. Have incredible photos and videos to last a lifetime.
Tell us about the Hondius
Ship was very stable given the conditions and I didn't get seasick even though I am prone to do so. Food was good, not great. I found the meat dishes for dinners significantly undercooked and had to send them back to be cooked further.
Tell us about the expedition team
All were good and brought different skills and expertise which enhanced our experience. Exception was Julia Wellner whom we found consistently negative, unfriendly and sometimes downright nasty to my wife and I. She needs a refresher course in customer service and dealing with others in a more friendly manner.
Were Swoop right to recommend Oceanwide Expeditions?
Yes
Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Always felt safe despite sometimes being very cold, wet & windy - not the fault of anyone. Michael was the best guide who found the best wildlife to see and put the zodiac in position for great photos & video. Other guides were not as talented.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Do not change money into Argentinian pesos at the "official rate", need to buy it on the "blue market" which gives you almost double the rate. South Georgia Island is a absolutely must see if you are traveling that far. I know it is more expensive, but it makes the trip amazing.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, better appreciate the beauty and challenges our world (and particularly Antarctica) is facing with global warming's affect on wildlife and the entire polar weather/ice.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
I whole-heartedly recommend the Hondius for this adventure.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I was possibly "over-prepared" as I over-packed. Never used the walking sticks I purchased.
