Tell us about Zodiac excursions
We discovered something different and amazing on each zodiac cruise. The crew always made sure we were safe and as comfortable as possible and that we all had the chance to witness wildlife. We also were educated on everything we saw. Plus the expedition crew came across as very personable and excited about being there.
Tell us about the expedition team
Loved the expedition crew! Hannah stands out for her extensive historical knowledge but also for zodiac navigational skills and ability to identify wildlife, even at a distance. Scotty was most friendly. Nate gave great briefings. Some of the lectures were during the Drake passage and we were kind of out of it. We tried to go in person or watch on TV almost all lectures. They were all worthwhile.
Tell us about the Seaventure
It was a cozy ship, easy to get around. Loved the lounge and expedition room with all of the windows, the open 5th deck and 8th deck. The wait staff, cabin Steward, and all of the crew were great. Loved Randy our entertainer!
Tell us about the Camping
LOVED the camping! Not the smell, lol, it was a once in a lifetime experience. And we stayed warm!
Tell us about the Paddling
As a experienced kayaker I was surprised to feel unstable in the kayak. I could never get comfortable but that wasn't an issue. We went on a cold rainy day so that took away from it. But it was beautiful, we heard calving and saw whales.
Something Else?
The captain worked hard to try to get us to the perfect places and where we could see wildlife and avoid bad weather. Loved our visit to the bridge for specific questions.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
GO! Do it all!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Pondering going to the Arctic or else South Georgia and Falklands at some point.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
We were nervous about getting the right clothes since we don't live in a cold climate but we did great. Appreciate the videos and ability to ask questions. We used several FB groups as well. SO excited in anticipation. Of course, nervous about all of the flying. By the way, LOVED the Arakur Resort Hotel!!!
