The utter beauty of the entire area...especially the quite close encounters with the Humpback whales!

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Just awesome! We always felts perfectly safe under the guidance of the expedition staff. I would have to say the first encounter, in heavy snow, with the Humpback whales was one of the most memorable. All of the excursions were done with great care for the environment and the passengers.
Tell us about the expedition team
Always going above-and-beyond in every way! They are extremely knowledgeable and truly enjoy sharing that love and knowledge. Our expedition leader Dan Olsen was outstanding!
Tell us about the National Geographic Resolution
The best! It exceeded our expectations in every way. The cabin was spacious, comfortable and we always felt safe and secure. The food was outstanding. I have a lot of diet restrictions, so I received a copy of the menu the day before, marked what I wanted and they would adapt the item to meet my dietary restrictions. It was always very tasty and the servings were plentiful. Yes, we would definitely choose this again! Laura the Hotel Director is fabulous, and her staff follow suit!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It has somewhat deepened my concern regarding the melting of the glaciers due to global warming. Also, about the effects of the avian flu on the animals in the Antarctic.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very excited and completely prepared!
