Honestly the people and crew I spent time with while on the cruise. I went solo and was worried about being bored and alone on the cruise. I'm glad my budget basically had me limited to having a shared quad cabin. I ended up making friends with some amazing people in my cabin and the guys next door as well. I hope we all keep in contact. Also the crew was AMAZING they were professional but all so real and their backgrounds and histories could keep people entertained for days.

We had a really rough voyage—including sailing through a hurricane plus two or three whiteout days. We arrived late and left very early. So, we got only 4 days down there. Highlights were kayaking onto an iceberg, seeing an iceberg roll, ice climbing. People were fascinating, especially over meals. One of my roommates was hilarious—both intentionally and unintentionally. I was surprised by how short the excursions were. I would have gladly given up a meal or two to experience in-depth excursions.

There are quite a few actually, difficult to choose. I'll share one each for Antarctica and Patagonia. Antarctica - very up close a couple of humpback whales, directly by the bow of MS Seaventure, almost could touch them, as they blow and surface for a good 10-15 minutes pushing the broken ice around them. Bliss. Patagonia - horseback riding up the base of Las Torres, allowed me to soak up the views near and far, riding high above the side of mountain, looking down the valley, up Las Torres view, absolutely fantastic point of view.

A very spiritual moment standing alone amongst thousands of penguins, seals, and nesting birds as I realized that because of man's efforts the many travesties of the past devastation are being (at least to some degree) reversed. We can make a difference, and this incredible world is worth it!

Too hard to choose a most memorable moment. So many once in a life-time moments. I loved the wildlife encounters. Tens of thousands of penguins on the beach. Interactions of penguins and fur seal pups. Amazing to watch a leopard seal hunt and catch a penguin. Who knew that icebergs could be so amazing and fascinating.

Cuverville Antarctica was magical. When we arrived and getting ready to take the zodiac to shore, there were a few penguins on a couple of hilltops. It looked like it was going to be a quick landing with a few photographic opportunities. As we were heading towards shore, droves of penguins were porpoising towards shore with us. Our landing was perfectly timed to the breeding migration of the Gentoo penguins. Thousands of penguins descended upon the landing area and it felt like they waited for us to arrive. I didn't want to leave.

Having had a rocky start with our first planned ship our G experiences on the MS Expedition was way beyond our expectations. We give the total experience 10/10. The standards on the ship were exceptional from the cleaning staff, the variety and excellence of of food and their ever smiling, genuine staff, the comfort of the dining and entertainment bar. The zodiac team were exceptionally careful in all sorts of weather, the professional, expert team gave us amazing information and planned our days and the itinerary diverted around extreme weather events beautifully.The range of ages, singles and couples were all very relaxed and everyone mixed around and no pretension. All enthusiastic, avid travellers. We were exceptionally lucky with divine weather in the Falklands and South Georgia and a calm Drake. Wonderful snowing days in Antarctica with often sky blue times when on the zodiacs. Saw every wildlife, birds and some humpbacks, super close.

The experience was fantastic. We saw lots of different seals, penguins, icebergs and glaciers. Highlights: 8 orcas playing "with" our ship, and 2 humpback whales jumping in and out of the water as we had to say good-bye to Antarctica. But our trip was interrupted and our itinerary changed almost completely (effectively to a trip that would have taken half the time and cost half the money). I experienced Antarctica as a "mass tourist", which was different to, e.g., standing on the Greenland ice shelf all by myself. But crew, staff and also fellow passengers were great company, experienced, and did everything they could to make the trip excellent. Most magical: sailing into cierva cove at 5 o'clock in the morning, sun blazing, icebergs glittering, no one at the back end of deck 3 ;)
