There were so many memorable moments! If I had to choose, it would be our days in Antarctica, the hike to the caldera on Penguin Island, our first landing on the continent, the hikes to the top of hills for magnificent views, the zodiac cruises to see wildlife and icebergs. Getting to see the wildlife in their natural habitat was nothing short of amazing!

Honestly, every single thing about this trip was incredible. My husband and I travel a lot, but this was hands down the most incredible experience we've ever had. If I had to pick one thing, I would say kayaking was our favorite part. We really enjoyed being able to explore and see wildlife from a completely unique view.

Would say this would be the twice-daily Zodiac excursions revealing the wildlife, habitat, geology, etc. We saw a leopard seal, heard calving glacier, saw avalanche, saw killer whales (orcas).

I don't know if I can pick one - even 10 days later. The BBQ on the deck, the zodiac tour in the snow with humpbacks, polar plunging, the penguins, the Lamaire Channel, for sure! Every day had something shocking and wonderful and glorious and we really tried to just experience each day. We lucked out with weather and lack of motion sickness, so the entire trip felt charmed.

The Zodiac cruise among the icebergs, sheet ice, and pack ice around Pleneau Island, accompanied by an intelligent, well-informed guide who took a few "ice-breaking" risks and kept us all well-informed as to exactly what he was doing.

This is so difficult because there were so many memorable moments. I think the one that will stick with me for the rest of my life, and the one that had me feeling the most emotions, was the sunset near Liard Island. We had just crossed the Antarctic Circle and the captain held us stationary as we watched the sunset. The sounds of whales were all around us and the light was perfect. I’m a sucker for sunsets and this one brought tears to my eyes. I will never forget this moment!

The highlights were all the penguin chicks at Petermann island and going through the Lamaire channel. The wildlife was amazing, especially the penguins and crab eater seals. I had a wonderful roommate and met several nice people, with whom I will keep in touch with. I was shocked how the ship operator's staff allowed the other passengers to be agressive and bully others when trying to take photos.

Sailing through the Lemaier Channel with a huge iceberg in the middle. Several other ships had to turn around but we successfully navigated the channel and were rewarded with a breathtaking experience in flow ice and bergs

South Georgia was fantastic. Seeing the sheer volume of wildlife was incredible. It's frightening to think of the effects of global warming are having there. We had excellent weather. Only 2 landings were revised. Going early in the season gave us pristine snowy landscapes. We had the unique opportunity to see a lone emperor penguin. Getting out onto the ice flat and so close to massive ice bergs was fantastic. It was a friendly group of European travellers for the most part. I've discovery that I'm not so great on the open seas.

Impossible to identify any one moment as there were so many each day. Perhaps the first sight of the Antarctic after we woke up on Saturday morning, but really everything was a highlight.

Very difficult to choose. Probably the first Zodiac excursion but the night there were around 25 humpbacks feeding all around the ship flipping flukes and lunging was spectacular.

Our ship encountered a huge group of feeding humpback whales. We were surrounded by them for approx. 1.5 hours as we watched them feed, play, breech, dive... it was an enchanting experience. I never thought I would be so up close to these beautiful creatures.

Tie for 2: 1) seeing the shoulder to shoulder penguins at St Andrew's Bay 2) sitting on our balcony in just 1 layer of clothing under a beautiful, strong sun and watching a parade of glaciers and icebergs sail by in all their blue and odd-shaped glory while eating a surprise mid-afternoon snack as the boat sailed up Charlotte Bay. Simply mesmerizing and awe inspiring!

I describe this adventure as going to the moon and back. Of course, a trip like this is very weather dependent - but our weather could not have been any more perfect! Our expedition leader, Sarah, was determined to get us off the ship as much as possible. She only wanted to share her knowledge and the beauty around us. Her enthusiasm was infectious. We had 17 landings and 2 cancelled landings, of which one was substituted for a zodiac excursion so we didn't miss the penguin colony. So you ask what was my most memorable moment - every day, every longing, every guide, every lecture was memorable. This was an other worldly experience.
