Crossing the Antarctic circle at midnight on new years, stepping foot on the Antarctic continent (our 7th continent!), PENGUINS, kayaking through ice and snow and among giant icebergs, polar plunge, standing on point wild (elephant island), the opportunity to have had Greg Mortimer as our expedition lead, walking amongst the wildlife at fortuna bay (South Georgia), observing chicks at the Falklands…truly so many memorable moments it’s impossible to pick just one!

Our first landing in South Georgia when the king penguins just walked up and greeted us on the beach. It still makes me grin and tear up to think of it!

Too many to tell. The visit to South Georgia was spectacular. The ability to see so many penguins and fur seals in their natural habitat was spectacular. But best of all were the guides. They were outstanding. They went above and beyond to make our trip both enriched and kept us safe.

First landing on the continent and seeing the first colony of chinstrap penguins. And camping!

If you have never been there, there is no way of preparing for the impact of being there. The untouched, natural beauty, the mighty icebergs, the silliness of the penguins. You will be spending hours just sitting in one spot adoring the view. Also don't forget: this is not a luxury cruise, this is an expedition.

Nick - kayaking through the icebergs and probably also visiting Deception Island and the sheer size of the icebergs Wendy - going through the iceberg strewn waters in the zodiac with amazing colours particularly the brilliant blue

The kayaking was the best and most memorable part of my Antarctica trip. The ability to paddle up to the wildlife and landscape with little to no disruption was wonderful!

Crossing the Antarctic Circle, seeing Penguin rookeries, Elephant Seals, pack ice and Ross Sea ice shelf. Storm Force 10 in the roaring forties was dramatic, unfortunately a couple passengers suffered bruised/cracked ribs and a fair number shaken up. The cruise ship "World" was one day behind us during our tour of the Ross Sea. It was a surprise we were not alone but that such a large vessel had sailed so far South. Seem regulations will stiffen in 2018 requiring vessels to be polar strengthened and banning heavy diesel and so this was 'The World' last chance to make such a trip.

Loved South Georgia and the encounter with 150 Humpback whales near Shag Rock. That experience was unbelievable as was the Iceberg graveyard in Antartica. I enjoyed getting up and close to nesting Albatross in The Falklands as well as seeing 130,000 breeding pairs of penguins in South Georgia. Seeing 150 Humpback whales so close to the ship ie 20m for over 40 minutes was special. The expedition crew was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The ship crew were equally superb with great humour, service and friendliness. The Lido deck BBQ with full roast pig was very very special. Loved the ship and the crew. I think visiting the Antarctic is a once in a lifetime experience. I would revisit Antartica again however do fly in and fly out. My only issue I had with the trip was there was little to do on Sea Days. Therefore I would prefer to shorten the trip.

Paddling in Fournier Bay surrounded by humpback whales. There were blows everywhere. There were whales trumpeting. Two sleeping whales floated to the raft of kayaks and then veered off in a quick turn with flipper up and were about 10 meters from us. We could smell their breath.

Kayaking with Leopard Seals., Humpbacks seeking Krill and swimming around the Zodiak several meters away, and seeking the raw nature of the Antartica.

9.5 put of 10 Great excursions with a blue sky day on a zodiac near ice bergs and whales the highlight. People on the boat a good mix and we found a like minded 8 which we largely shared the adventure with. Surprise was the intensity of the trip... 3/4 full days.

There were so many, and lots of emotions being there getting to experience it all, finally. One highlight was our first landing, the weather was good and we got to see our first penguins. Also having a zodiac stop on our final cruise for hot chocolate out on the water was a beautiful end!

All of it...the guides were amazing, the food was awesome, the crew that kept everything clean were great, as well as the servers for the meals. The lectures put on by the guides helped to understand the fragile ecosystem on the continent. Most memorable was the kayaking....
