Tell us about the expedition team

The expedition team was amazing. Knowledgeable, entertaining, helpful and made citizen science a blast.

Tell us about the Seaventure

The ship was lovely. Our room was great. It was a bit annoying when we had an event just before dinner and we had to pay for our drinks. I thought that was a little cheap on their paid considering what we paid for the cruise. I get if we’re in the middle of the day on a C day and we’re having a drink, but we should pay for it because that was not included. But when they pulled us all together for an event prior to dinner, a pre-dinner cocktail would’ve been nice not to have to pay for.

Fantastic!

Were Swoop right to recommend Polar Latitudes?

Yes

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Because you’re usually in cold weather, you don’t need to pack as much because you’re under layers do not get dirty and rarely did we sweat. We were able to wash things out in the sink and they dried overnight.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Have you been through antarctica on a previous trip but not landing, this trip gave me even greater perspective on the beauty of antarctica and the amazing wildlife at South Georgia. I wish we had gone below the circle and into the Weddle Sea. I may need to plan a third trip. I was not that impressed with the Falkland Islands because by the time we got there, there were really no penguins, Visa two and so it’s rather an impressive after having been to South Georgia. Maybe we should’ve gone there first.

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

Very was prepared and I thought the polar latitudes another group was very helpful and I will use them to go to the North Pole or the Arctic Circle
