Everything was amazing. Antarctica is the most unfathomable, incredible place that I can ever imagine visiting. And then there was the crew, the boat, the food, the education.

Watching over 200 fin whales feeding with hundreds of penguins and albatrosses, just off Elephant Island. It was sunny with incredibly strong wind, and many of the blows from the fin whales turned into rainbows.

The sheer scale and remoteness of the continent Tranquil and the the fact that animals can survive and indeed flourish in such a harsh environment. The glaciers and geomorphology was inspirational.

Definitely lots more wildlife other than penguins than I was expecting. The ship & other passengers were fantastic. The ship was way more comfortable than I was expecting and definitely didn’t feel too small. Was great to meet like-minded people from around the world too.

The excursions were better than expected Getting to speak with all the scientist onboard was great The landscape and experiencing the wildlife upclose was incredible The crew was friendly and helpful

That is a hard question to answer as there were many. All of Antarctica was very special and each location was somewhat different especially with the ever changing weather. Certainly Horseshoe Bay, Protection Point (where we saw a huge iceberg collapse), Neko Harbor, and Brown Bluff (where we had a leopard seal play with the zodiac for ~30 minutes) were all highlights. We were disappointed by being chased out of South Georgia Island by a storm after only one day which was as important to visit as Antarctica. In hindsight, we may have chosen to go too late in the season.

Penguins were definitely the highlight. I could have watched them for hours. Lemaire Channel was spectacular though we had to turn around at the end due to iceberg blocking the way. Saw many whales - fin, humpback and orca.

We came across umpteen Humpack whales in a bay one afternoon. At one point we counted 16 within 100 metres of our Zodiac - amazing!
