Overall, how was your trip?

The landscapes were even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Getting so close to wildlife was certainly one of the highlights of the experience. All of the people on the boat were kind, open, and interesting.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

I had almost no specific expectations for Antarctica, and I found absolutely stunning and unforgettable.

Would you visit again?

Yes

How was the service that Swoop provided?

I think Swoop found the right trip for me, and I have no complaints. My only suggestion would be to make it clear that the boat arrives back in Ushuaia in the early morning. That was not clear to me, so I booked my return plane for the following day. If I had known we were arriving in the morning I would have preferred to leave Ushuaia on the same day.

You chose a/an Antarctic Basecamp Adventure experience. How was that experience?

It was amazing! I really enjoyed my first experience mountaineering and felt that it was a real challenge. I also loved kayaking and would have liked to go again. There were plenty of activities throughout each day. I would certainly recommend this journey for anyone who is trying to take advantage of and be active in the Antarctica landscape.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

Swoop did not arrange any of my travel before or after Antarctica.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

The zodiacs were a wonderful way to access the land and sea of Antarctica. Highlights were getting so close to wildlife and the zodiac cruises in the Lemaire Channel and later for whale watching.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Have the right gear! Do not miss out on mountaineering because you don't have stiff enough mountaineering boots.

Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)

The staff was outstanding! From the hotel staff to the expedition staff, everyone was professional and warm.
