Waking up to the view of the icebergs after two days of seeing only water crossing the Drake Passage, the view of Antartica on top of the hills after a long hike, Penguins of different types nesting together, seeing penguins giving pebbles to their partner for their nests, the seals watching us watch them, polar plunge and lots of choices at the buffet

Wow - so hard to select just one! I would say the day we were on the Zodiac, and our guide - unfortunately I don't remember who it was! - had us close our eyes and be silent for one minute. When I opened my eyes I felt like I entered a new, amazing, world of peace and love. Hard to describe, but so powerful.

There were a number of memorable moments. First seeing the icebergs go by my suite window, or watching whales playing. Every day while in Antartica, there was something special.

The trip was the best I’ve ever had. The landscapes were out of the world and we were lucky to come across a lot of wildlife including tons of orca whales over two days. The co-passengers were amazing and we all got along very well. The expedition crew were superb- experienced, friendly and very concerned about our safety. The hotel and housekeeping staff ensured we were comfortable and had ample food to eat. I never thought I would do the polar plunge but I did.

Hard to pick just one moment --- the colours in icebergs, the complete lack of fear of penguins (they have to be the only animal on the planet that doesn't run and hide from humans), the active volcano, the whales and their incredible curiosity and playfulness, the moment I set foot on Antarctica --- it was one memorable moment after another.

Kayaking among dozens of "porpoising" Macaroni penguins off the shore of South Georgia Island. It was our first experience with ocean kayaking, and riding the swells in the bright sun with mountains and dramatic clouds all around and the playful penguins entertaining us was a truly magical experience.

I am still 'working through' my 7,000 plus photos and I am reliving some of these moments that I captured 'digitally'. It is impossible to reduce the trip to only 'one moment'. The Cruise was notable for having Greg run the trip. He seemed to know the weather and pointed us in the right direction each day. Most often the landings were great experiences, The staff and food as well as the accomodations were excellent as well. I loved every other aspect of the trip and would have liked a longer trip(in my dreams). If there was one hiccup, it was going to Stanley(staying in town was a waste of time unless you knew or were told to go to a bay to see penguins, etc, but it all was so disorganized at that time, we were not told about that option), I personally would have enjoyed a trip to an albatross colony. Perhaps most important to me was rooming with my grandson and spending the time with him and my daughter who live in Australia. I loved kayaking, the sights we saw, even kayaking in brash ice were real treats, and the support team were all engaged and fun to be with on this journey!
