South Georgia would rank as the highlight insofar as the scenery and the wildlife were both off the scale. The expedition team were excellent, both in terms of the varied and informative lectures, and their professionalism conducting the excursions. The 'Island Sky' staff were first-rate as well, from the ship's officers getting us into sheltered inlets, to the superb catering, and the tireless deck hands and hotel workers. Biggest surprise: Drake Lake! Magic moment: Being 'inspected' by a fur seal pup.

Moments....plural. The daily zodiac excursions. Whether hiking up to the penguins or being among the humpback whales while they came up for air or just looking at the different icebergs and their colors, the Antarctic scenery and wildlife was amazing.

Being able to step onto land!!! It felt surreal to see the world from this point of view. We felt so grateful for all the time and effort that the crew put in to ensure we respected the wildlife and experienced Antarctica

Kayaking in Antartic waters and having a humpback whale surface just 100 feet from out kayak. then we had an iceberg completely come apart and sent ice toward our kayak.

Honestly, ALL OF IT. I guess when I saw the first large ice bergs I was amazed. Then when we set foot on land in that first landing.

Having watched Blue Planet , experiencing the wild life in real and literally smelling the animals in their habitat was great. Seeing the Glaciers and ice floats rarely shown for the beautiful sculptures that they are was my highlight, not to mention to experience the rough seas that the early adventurers took in their boats

There were so many, it’s tough to pick one. Moment of silence on top of Danco island (hearing avalanches, whales and penguins in the distance) sticks out. Close encounter with humpbacks in the zodiac. Camping overnight with the most amazing skyline.

Getting off the boat and amongst the various wildlife. Whether it was hiking , kayaking or on the zodiac. The naturists made an outstanding experience extraordinary. Natural Geographic and Lindblad is certainly the way to go.

Overall, it was a fabulous trip, something I had dreamt of doing since the late 1960's. Financially, I have only now been able to do it and I was absolutely thrilled by the whole package and experience. A personal experience of exploration and learning which I will always treasure.
