Finally reaching Antarctica after two unsuccessful tries, disembarking our zodiac in rough seas with snow blowing sideways and planting ourselves on the rocky shore of the White Continent.

Cruising below the Antarctic circle near Crystal Sound (can't remember the exact location) and witnessing the otherworldly site of a sea or bergy bits, growlers and icebergs tightly packed together as far as the eye can see. Like a broken-up ice shelf with pieces so close it looked like you could hop from one to another for miles.

Most memorable moments was seeing the Penguins up close jumping in the water and out of the water and seeing the whales up close and personal.

The day we spent going through ice on the ship and on zodiacs with whales, penguins and seals all around us. At one point we had whales on 4 sides of us.

Meeting a colony of 15 thousand penguins on our first day in South Georgia. Stepping on the Antarctic continent for the first time. Getting up close and personal with so many humpback whales.

Experiencing the wildlife up close: penguins, seals, and whales. The lectures on geology and marine biology were excellent and added importantly to my understanding and enjoyment.

Everything was a highlight. All landscape and wildlife was beyond beautiful. I met the most wonderful people. Just about everything was a surprise, sunsets and sunrises, food, passengers, waitstaff, room, Expeditions leaders and the Captain. Magical moment was when I was able to scatter a small amount of my husband's ashes in a beautiful bay. He passed away last year and this was a trip he wanted to go on.
