It is hard to pick just one given how incredible the trip was, but one of my favorites was sea kayaking among fur seals.

So many……. Watching baby seals practicing swimming, watching the greeting committees of baby seals and penguins when we landed the zodiacs, all the education shared by members of the expedition team, and all the memorable conversations with other passengers.

I have two moments, the one in the small bay where some did camping, it was so quiet with the whales around us and the mountains and glaciers. The other was simply Marguerite bay and its majestic icebergs in the light and fog.

The entire experience makes one moment difficult but setting foot on my seventh continent was goal completing and memorable. That said meeting my bunkie an 82 year old who had spent three years in the 70’s as part of a South African Antarctic Expedition coming back and finding the continent in better condition than he expected was the most meaningful moment.

The first day in the kayaks when we went out in the ice berg fields then met the wildlife. I have never been so close to these types of animals or to blocks of ice that could kill me in a blink of an eye. Just the size and the vastness of everything made me feel so small.

The whole experience was memorable, but if I had to choose one, it would be holding the 7th continent flag when we stepped onto the Antarctic continent.

Waking up early and watching the sunrise on the port side and the moon set in the starboard side of the pristine Geriashe Strait. Sunshine and water like glass. All the wildlife!!!.

Seeing these animals just metres away was amazing. I was shocked with how beautiful South Georgia was goth in animals and in landscapes. Stunning.
