On our final day in Antarctica at Fournier Bay, we were kayaking & were surrounded by humpback whales breaching & flapping their fins & towering icebergs, rolling & calving. It was sensory overload. We will remember that for ever!

Awakening at 4:00am to see that we had arrived in Antarctica. The morning light was amazing. The scene was beautiful and serene.

Seeing the whales and penguins up close was one of the many highlights. Finally standing on the Antarctica continent. There were a large diversity of passengers from all over the world. Great fun-loving people. The biggest surprise was having the opportunity to see schools of whales swimming together and being so close to them. This was a magical moment.

Getting to and landing on Elephant Island where Shackleton's men stayed for almost five months. Very rare opportunity due to usual bad seas and weather. We had blue skies and sunshine.

Camping on the ice with Saskia was 10/10. The absolute "polar silence" was incredible and unmatched, only broken by humpback whale blows and glacier cracks - incredible.

Observing wildlife in their natural habitat. Penguins are hilarious!! Increased understanding and respect for the need to limit human impact on the environment and ecology. Sadness at witnessing the impact of avian flu (mass mortality of seals).
