Most memorable moment was sitting quietly on the Zodiac with our guide while watching whales surface around us. He told us not to rush, not to record everything, but to use our eyes and simply be present. That peaceful silence, the sound of the ocean, and the feeling of being so close to these gentle giants is something I will never forget. It felt like the world paused for a moment.

Zodiac trip to shore to walk among the huge number of penguins , seals, elephant seals and traveling past several whales. The ice covered areas were like visiting another planet. Nothing like it anywhere else, not even Alaska. This was a very special place.

The entire experience makes one moment difficult but setting foot on my seventh continent was goal completing and memorable. That said meeting my bunkie an 82 year old who had spent three years in the 70’s as part of a South African Antarctic Expedition coming back and finding the continent in better condition than he expected was the most meaningful moment.

Sitting quietly staring at the amazing landscape, the moody, pastel sky, the peaks, the animals.....really can't state one moment as outstanding for there were so many.

Every destination had a memorable moment. On the Falkland Islands, I enjoyed the lecture by Mensun Bound about finding the Endurance wreck in the Antarctica sea. Getting a signed copy of his book, The Ship Beneath the Ice was epic. On South Georgia, the King Penguin colony of Saint Andrews Bay was stunning! Stepping onto the Antarctica Peninsula at Portal Point was a moment I’ll never forget! Overall, wildlife spotting from multitudes of penguins to breaching whales was a true highlight of the trip.

Definitely the landings in Antarctica and South Georgia. Being so close to the penguins and seals was an incredible experience.
