Operator's Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Buenos Aires - Highlights of the city

Landing this morning in South America, your Swoop guide will be waiting for you at Pistarini International Airport (EZE), approx 30 minutes outside of the city, and will take you by private vehicle to your centrally located hotel. After a little time to check in and perhaps grab some lunch on your own, the afternoon will be spent with your guide as they show you the highlights of this marvellous city.

For approximately 5 hours, you will find out about Argentina’s fascinating history, as you get a taste of both the northern and southern parts of the city. You will discover the important landmarks that shaped this curious nation, from the colourful immigrants' quarter of La Boca to the newest and shiniest district of Puerto Madero.

Visit the bustling downtown where the settlement was established some 500 years ago and appreciate the serenity of one of the world’s most beautiful cemeteries at Recoleta. This destination showcases the city's beautiful architecture and is the resting place for most of the country’s significant characters, including the grave of Eva Duarte de Peron, or simply Evita.

As well as learning about the 'Paris of South America', you will make a short stop at a small but fascinating Antarctic heritage site. Most Argentines are not aware of the dramatic history of the ship that is moored alongside some of the city's trendiest bars and restaurants. If the monument is open, you can enter, but if not, the visit can still take place from the outside.

Your first night in Buenos Aires will be one to remember as Swoop has selected three different options for you to choose:

1. If tango is on your bucket list, take in one of the famous professional shows. Held in a small theatre, low lit and with a live orchestra, this 1.5-hour experience passionately conveys the history and evolution of the unique and scintillating dance. Most shows finish around midnight, so be warned that you’re likely to dance to night away.

2. If you’d prefer an evening of intimate dining while gaining an understanding of the typical Argentine asado (BBQ), dine in our selected restaurant, close to the chef. Learn through your senses and experience a fantastic, truly authentic tasting menu with premium wine pairings included.

3. For a relaxed, hands-on and fun group cooking experience, we recommend the 'Argentine Experience'. A mixture of cooking class, restaurant and bar, it introduces you to Argentina’s fabulous food and drink culture while you try your hand at making your very own empanada (typical pastry turnover). Sample dishes from all over Argentina and make new friends during this fabulous small-group experience.

  1. Excursion: half-day city highlights with Antarctic heritage site stop

Accommodation: Swoop suggested 4* boutique hotel, Palermo neighbourhood

Day 2: Fly to Ushuaia

This part of your itinerary has been left deliberately open so you can choose an activity to enjoy before your flight check-in time. You might like to visit the majestic embassy district with its grand palaces, take a walk through fragrant rose gardens and manicured parks, or spend time at the memorial near the immense Rio de la Plata.

After exploring you will leave for Jorge Newberry domestic airport (AEP) with an included transfer and check in for your flight south.
