Overall, how was your trip?

The highlight of the trip is being remote and off the grid for a week. It gave us the chance to soak in an untouched part of the world. The landscapes were dramatic and opened our eyes to other part of the world. The people, crew member, and ship operator's staff all made the trip extra memorable. We got to met with everyone and they were some of the nicest people. The staff were professional and made sure everyone on board was safe, happy, and had fun. This is a special story for us and it will be told to our grandchildren as the trip that we got engaged on the summit of Paradise Bay, Antarctica.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

It lived up to our expectations and thought it was an amazing and magical place to witness life in nature form.

Would you visit again?

Yes

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Swoop provided with excellent service. There were a few name errors but was corrected. John was my main point of contact and had a lot of experience in Antarctica and recommended me the perfect voyage. There were many discussions but he helped me narrow it down and even reserved a cabin for me while I made my decision. The ship was great was I didn't want a ship with more than 100 passengers and the Island Sky had a maximum of 108 which was close enough. Loli, Dolores, Aimee, Liz were all very helpful in collecting the documents, updating the itinerary, and pre-boarding information for the ship. Overall I am very satisfied with Swoop and their services. It was a nice surprise to receive a buff as well as we didn't see any other passenger on board with it and commented that it was nice of Swoop to provide one.

You chose a/an Antarctic Explorer experience. How was that experience?

We were very happy with our decision with Swoop booking for the Island Sky voyage. It was the right amount of passengers on board allowing all of us to do landings really quickly. Everyone was so nice. One of the staff even said that they never had a group of people that offered to switch seats around in the zodiac to make sure everyone got to sit in the front. I would recommend the trip to anyone looking for adventure, admires nature and wildlife, and those who want to be in a place that is not disturbed.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

All the logistics worked out especially when we did not choose the air/hotel package. We booked separate flights to get to Ushuaia and our own hotel and Swoop made sure we were go to go and where to meet to board the ship. It was well organized via Swoop's website for our itinerary and travel documents all in one place.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

Zodiac excursions and landing exceeded expectations. We did about 6 landings which were all different and special in its own way. We didn't feel rushed at all and had guide at each location explaining their expertise. The zodiac cruising was amazing as we got close to the ice and see wildlife up close.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Advice would be to choose a small ship of no more than 100 passengers, ensure the expedition team has many years of experience, and to meet with everyone on board.
