Overall, how was your trip?

Everything was amazing. Great scenery and wildlife, great activities. Highlights were kayaking and mountaineering plus being able to do 2 landings a day for 6 days. Ship was great, with enthusiastic fellow passengers.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

It was fantastic.

Would you visit again?

Maybe

You chose a/an Antarctic Basecamp Adventure experience. How was that experience?

It was great, much better than just doing landings. Only slight quibble was that they were not long enough, but ship logistics probably make it impossible to have longer activities.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

Booked them myself.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

Excellent. Mostly shore landings plus 2 zodiac cruises. Great wildlife and freedom to roam on shore landings within clearly marked boundaries.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

I would certainly recommend Plancius basecamp. It gives good value for money compared to many other ships. It is not luxurious, but that is fine. Good atmosphere on the boat, with the dining room and lounge able to accommodate everyone at the same time. Excellent deck space. Expedition staff where enthusiastic, knowledgeable and efficient. Many landings and great basecamp activities, particularly kayaking and mountaineering.
