Day 1: Arrive Ushuaia, afternoon trip to national park
Arriving into Ushuaia in the morning you will be met by a Swoop representative who will take you to your centrally-located hotel about 20 minutes from the airport, where you will be able to check-in. This afternoon, your guide will pick you up by vehicle for you to enjoy the national park with a small group of like-minded travelers. Most visitors to the national park will be leaving when we enter, allowing for a quieter experience. Your guide will explain about the unique national park which encompasses both mountainous and coastal ecosystems, and also make several stops for you to take everything on short guided walks.
In the evening, take the opportunity to enjoy one of Ushuaia’s many great restaurants - you will be spoilt for choice!
If arriving into Ushuaia in the afternoon of day 1, you can choose to visit the national park on the morning of day 4 instead, before boarding your Antarctic expedition.
Day 2: Crab fishing experience and gourmet lunch
After breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide, and drive eastwards through the Southern Patagonian forest. Taking a short interpretative walk in the forest en-route, you will arrive at a small fishing village on the coast of the Beagle Channel. Here, you will meet your hosts who will demonstrate their method of artisan crab fishing, with the option to try your hand at fishing your own lunch! Witness how the locals cook this delicious local meal in their rustic setting, before savouring the flavours of this exquisite ‘Fueguian’ dish. This interesting experience will fill not only your belly, but also give you an appreciation for how some people forge an existence in the harsh conditions at the end of the world. Arrive back at your home, early evening to reflect on a magnificent day-out.

Day 3: 4x4 Adventure in the Andean Mountains of Tierra del Fuego
Today’s adventure will take you off-road to discover the wild and immense landscapes that Tierra del Fuego has to offer, that have captivated travelers to this remote spot for centuries. Drive into the mountains and divert through the forest on trails that only these hardy vehicles can tackle, whilst making short stops to stretch your legs at viewpoints along the way. Savouring a typical refuge BBQ lunch with your fellow travelers will be one of the highlights as your guide cooks you lunch and you enjoy the camaraderie within in your small group. Later, there is the option of taking a short canoe ride along the coast of the lake (weather permitting) or simply enjoying the magnificent surroundings of the wilderness at the end of the world! Return to Ushuaia early evening to reflect on another great day’s adventure.
Meal: Breakfast & lunch
Day 4: Antarctic voyage
This morning is for you to enjoy at your own pace, perhaps getting to know the city and its museums or doing some last-minute shopping before boarding your Antarctic vessel and setting sail in the afternoon. Not many of your fellow Antarctic travelers will have as much to say about Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego as you will! Swoop will inform you of the logistics for boarding your ship and provide transport to the dock area. Fair winds!
