Overall, how was your trip?
For me the highlight was being at the top of Useful Island early in the morning with clear blue skies. Everywhere we looked there were white mountains, islands, wildlife and blue water. I was really impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the ship's operator and the Hebridean Sky staff.
In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?
Antarctica's beauty far exceeded our expectations.

How was the service that Swoop provided?
Swoop initially provided information about the cruise. We booked the cruise through Swoop. All information from the time of booking to departure and payment was smooth. However!! We had our flight (which we had booked on our own) canceled from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia due to a national pilots strike. Aerolineas Argentinas could not book us for another flight for 2 days. I called Swoop. I spoke with Aimee and her team. Within 15 minutes, she had us booked on an Aerolineas Argentinas flight within 24 hours. Aimee and her team saved our trip. Swoop was able to provide great customer support. In all the chaos that day at the airport, it was great to be able to reach out Aimee, who was so pleasant and calming!!

You chose a/an Antarctic Peninsula Classic experience. How was that experience?
The entire experience was beyond our expectations. I was really impressed with the expediton staff. They were very experienced, pleasant and knowledgable. One member had cross country skied to the South Pole and another member had recreated the Shackleton expedition. They kept everyone well informed about the upcoming activities. We had a porthole suite. It was very spacious and bright. I would definitely recommend the trip to anyone considering a trip to Antarctica.
If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?
We made our own travel arrangements before and after the cruise. As mentioned earlier in this review, we were impacted by the national pilots strike. Because Aerolinas Argentinas could not get us on another flight for 2 days, I reached out to Aimee and her team. They were able to do what Aerolinas Argentinas could not do. They got us on a flight in 24 hours and saved our trip. We got an e-mail from Swoop before we left home, stating that Swoop would be with us every step of the way. Swoop really lived up to their word. Really great work!!
How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?
I think that my favorite landing was at Useful Island, just beautiful. The expedition staff was great. They gave instructions for getting in and out of the zodiac boats. There was lots of opportunities for wildlife viewing and observation. Penguins were especially entertaining. Icebergs were in all sorts of shapes and sizes. One had an arch so large that the ship could almost cruise through it.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I don't think that it inspired me to do anything differently. It reinforced my love for nature and the need for conservation.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
I would definitely recommend using Swoop. Can't thank the company enough for the great customer support. The ship's operator was great.
