Overall, how was your trip?

9.5 put of 10 Great excursions with a blue sky day on a zodiac near ice bergs and whales the highlight. People on the boat a good mix and we found a like minded 8 which we largely shared the adventure with. Surprise was the intensity of the trip... 3/4 full days.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

Absolutely! Good weather was the key along with great expedition guides.

Would you visit again?

Maybe

How was the service that Swoop provided?

All good and information provided valuable. Fly / cruise definitely right option for us. Baggage limits could have been highlighted earlier.

You chose a/an Antarctic Fly & Cruise Safari experience. How was that experience?

Very closely met our expectations. Flying was the perfect option. Yes I would recommend. Suggestions are generally minor but embarkation / disembarkation processes could be slicker and more personalised ie. assess the people and take older less mobile first allowing more down time or expedition time for others.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

Yes all very good. Only issue is baggage limits and solutions for travellers on extended holidays beyond Antartica.

How were your experiences on the zodiac excursions and shore landings?

Simply amazing. Efficiency and friendliness of staff and guides. Willingness to make every excursion special. We ticked off the big 13. Chinstrap and Gentoo Leopard, Fur, Elephant, Weddell and Crab-eater seals. Humpback, Minke and Orca whales. Skua, Giant Petrel and Terns. Add a blue sky glacier day with some calving and you have it all.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Save up and go! And do the polar plunge!

Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)

John’s open and helpful advice was pivitol in making our group decide to go...thank you.
