Overall, how was your trip?

The boat and zodiac excursions were highlights. Scenery spectacular but not much variety. Unspoilt. We have seen many beautiful landscapes as we are frequent travellers. Penguins cute but smelly---seeing babies was special. Would have liked to see more seals and whales. Company congenial.

In one sentence, what did you think of Antarctica? Did it live up to your expectations?

We enjoyed the experience ---especially as Hebridean Sky and expedition team, crew ---faultless.

Would you visit again?

No

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Lucky to find availability on the internet as did not want to do long cruise across the Drake. We were told that by friends that fly/cruises were available.Hunted round the internet. Ship, cabin etc were what was available as these trips book out quickly. Service consisted mainly of answering questions about our plans and receiving information and making scheduled payments A printed booklet summarising all this would have been helpful as I dislike reading online.

You chose a/an Original Fly & Cruise Luxury Adventure experience. How was that experience?

Great experience. Yes good choice of ship and cabin. Most of our friends have either done a cruise or would not want to as we are an older demographic. Too expensive for my children and grandchildren. Really annoying that no jackets supplied as most operators do this. Lucky we could borrow as no use for us in Melbourne.

If Swoop arranged some of your travel before/after your voyage. How did we do?

Yes all arrangements worked well----Santiago and Punta Arenas arrangements all satisfactory but internal flights, journeys to and from airports done ourselves.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Save lots of money. Do it while you are young enough to do kayaking as walks on land a bit repetitive.

Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)

We have visited Iceland and Alaska so feel it's enough. Enjoyed 4 nights at Tierra Patagonia which was superb.
