Tell us about Zodiac excursions
These were very fun, especially going around the icebergs and getting close to the wildlife.

The team was great, very upbeat, professional, helpful, knowledgeable--all around as good as guides get.

Saw even more than I had expected.
Tell us about the Hondius
Tremendous food and a great staff. Comfortable rooms and an excellent lounge area. I also liked our ability to move around on the ship--I never felt confined.
Something Else?
All around excellent experience! Even if I try to, I can't think of anything negative. Give a primer on the different B types of boots or a chart of examples of them. In North America, we don't have the B system.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Bring ski goggles. They not only help with the sun but with the wind and occasional windborne debris. Use your sunscreen! I underestimated the effect of sun reflection off the snow and ended up badly burnt. Bring lotion. You will be very very dry (Antarctica is absolutely a desert) and with the cold this can lead to skin splitting and scarring.

Create a chart that shows the B rating system for boots with brands and examples.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
The only misgivings I had were that it would be too "easy" or "luxurious" or something, but the activities were certainly challenging and authentic and experientially rich. Exactly what I had hoped for.
