Petermann Island

Just north of the Antarctic Circle, Petermann Island is one of the less visited islands on the Antarctic Peninsula, found as you venture further south, travelling down the Lemaire Channel. It is a fantastic place to see Weddell, crabeater and elephant seals, as well as skuas and other Antarctic sea birds. There is also an impressive number of penguins, the majority form a large Adélie penguin colony. Other islands that you may stop at in this area include Pléneau Island, a great place for watching the curious-looking elephant seal basking on the beaches
