About Me

Life before Swoop

After completing my degree in Marketing and Management, I embarked on an awe-inspiring 8-month solo journey across South America. My adventure took an unforgettable turn when my mother joined me in Chile. Together, we traversed the entire length of this remarkable country, from the arid landscapes of the San Pedro de Atacama desert to the breathtaking beauty of Torres del Paine National Park.

Witnessing the incredible diversity of nature and environments within the Chilean landscape ignited a calling to help others experience nature’s wonders and led me to work in travel.

Throughout my adventures, I have always looked to expand my horizons and learn new things, whether obtaining my Open Water PADI certification amid the crystal-clear waters of Koh Tao, Thailand, or skiing in the French Alps. I learnt to kitesurf in Essaouira, Morocco, and indulged my culinary curiosity during a food tour adventure across Mexico.

Before joining Swoop I worked in the travel industry selling small-group adventure tours. My journey then led me to an extraordinary opportunity to set foot on Antarctica.

My Antarctic experience

Among the countless incredible moments, one stands out vividly in my memory. I woke at 4am and blearily looked out of the window only to spot the almost dreamlike sight of two humpback whales lunge-feeding close by. Instantly fully awake, I pulled on all my warm layers and raced onto the outer deck. For two mesmerising hours I watched these huge creatures feasting on krill under the morning sun against a spectacular mountain backdrop.

Participating in the kayaking programme was also a true highlight. It offered an incredible way to experience Antarctica in complete silence, far removed from the noise of the ship and Zodiac engines. At times it was a good workout, paddling through slushy brash ice, the noise of the chunks hitting the kayak interrupted only by the distant thundercrack of calving glaciers. In clearer waters the mirror-like surface could suddenly be broken by penguins porpoising right in front of you.

As an Antarctic specialist at Swoop I have the pleasure of sharing the magic and wonder of this remote region with travellers from around the world. My goal is to match each customer with the perfect ship and itinerary. I draw on my extensive knowledge of the huge variety of ships and trips and use my personal experiences to make sure we find the ideal trip for you to tick off this bucket list destination. I love being able to share stories from my polar adventures and inspire you ready for your own expedition to the White Continent.
