Life before Swoop
Before joining Swoop, my journey into the world of travel began at 16 when I travelled to Sri Lanka to participate in a community project supporting a local school without running water. After fundraising to help finance improvements, we got hands-on with the work ourselves while immersing ourselves in the local culture. It was an experience that sparked my curiosity about the world and ignited a lifelong desire to keep exploring.
Later, I spent two and a half years living and working in Mexico, a place that will always hold a special place in my heart. I fell in love with its vibrant culture, incredible food, colourful towns, and diverse landscapes, ranging from tropical beaches and rainforests to volcanoes and cenotes. Some of my closest friendships were forged there, and I continue to return every year.
Following my time in Mexico, I wanted to turn my passion for exploring into a career helping others experience the same sense of adventure and discovery. Over the past two and a half years in the travel industry, I’ve been fortunate to help people plan incredible adventures around the globe.
Why I love Travelling
I am incredibly passionate about wildlife, conservation, and immersing myself in different landscapes.I feel happiest surrounded by nature—particularly in places that feel untouched by the modern world.
Some of my most memorable travel moments have been in Costa Rica, from close-up encounters with howler, spider, and capuchin monkeys to watching a mother and baby sloth in the wild. These intimate wildlife connections stay with you forever.
Whether it’s hiking through a dense rainforest, discovering a remote trail, or taking in the sheer scale of a dramatic landscape, being outdoors makes me feel most alive. I am deeply committed to protecting these fragile environments and ensuring future generations can experience them as well.
Day to day at Swoop
Joining Swoop has taken my passion for travel to another level. I love being able to help people reach some of the most remote corners of the Earth, particularly Antarctica. Hearing what it means to our travellers to experience a continent they may once have thought was entirely beyond their reach is deeply moving.
What makes this work especially rewarding is helping people experience these extraordinary places responsibly. Protecting wildlife, minimising our impact, and leaving no trace are central to everything we do, ensuring that these remarkable environments can be appreciated for generations to come.
