What was your most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment was when we were in the zodiac and we had 2 leopard seals swim right up to us and then under our zodiac. We also saw a leopard seals eat a penguin the same day.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
The only negative was the Drake. It was a major shake both directions. We were all super sea sick despite prescription and OTC meds. It’s bit for the faint of heart. Also, when bringing kids, know that some things they can’t do until they are 15-16 (kayaks, polar plunge, etc.)
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I have a new respect for Antarctica. It was beautiful and amazing!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Heather and Allie were amazing. They were so good to help us navigate the details of getting gear (we had to get it in Chile) and planning for our kids. Heather was absolutely right when she recommended Silver Seas as a luxury line. It was truly spectacular.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
We were so excited and perfectly prepared. We didn’t “need” anything.
