When hundreds of humpback whales fed on krill around the boat and to the horizon — everywhere we looked, there were whales.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
The Zodiac excursions were very fun! The ability to get off onto land is key to feeling more connected to Antarctica, and I was glad the Zodiacs allowed us to do this — and just bombing around on them is a fun feeling as well, and you get to see so much more that way.
Tell us about the expedition team
The expedition team were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I adored Falcon in particular — so kind and interesting, and what a treat to get to have an excursion to Antarctica with the grandson of Robert Falcon Scott! Margherita was also a huge standout — very knowledgeable, excited about science and sharing her passion, and just a fun person to be around. Shoutouts to Monica and Tommy for great bird facts and accessibility, and Kevin for being so accessible and warm/friendly. Also shoutout to Benn for his amazing photography and great job taking us around on Zodiacs. Mariele also was very talented in taking us out kayaking, and around on zodiacs to take some great pictures.
Tell us about the SH Minerva
Exceeded expectations! The whole staff worked so hard, and the boat was pristine and capacious enough for the guests. It was a total dream. I would definitely choose this ship again. The only small nit — the sauna was out of commission for an entire day and that crimped my sauna-ing plans that day. It would have been great to have it reopened earlier!

GO!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Much more knowledge about Antarctica, and a deep desire to continue to do more adventurous travel into beautiful and remote parts of the world.
