What was your most memorable moment?
So many. The landscape, the silence, the icebergs, the glaciers, being so close to so many penguins, walking on the Antarctic continent. But the final afternoon seeing so many whales from the balcony and then in a zodiac being surrounded by whales that we didn't know which way to look.

Fantastic.
Tell us about the expedition team
Brilliant. Skilled, caring, knowledgeable. Swoop didn't know anything about them. Even though most had been on the ship for a while. So many good lectures. Krill :Phytoplankton had an enormous impact. The early indigenous peoples. The whales, the birds.
Tell us about the Ocean Albatros
Beautiful ship. Great cabin. The lift was closed for the 4 days of the Drake passage so a lot of stairs. The food was reasonably good and even with my limitations there was a choice usually. The maitre d made sure that everything gf was pointed out. Yes I would choose the ship again.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Don't bother to take walking poles. There were plenty supplied. My binoculars were too heavy to follow the fast moving birds. I recommend lighter ones. I took too many warm clothes. The parka is excellent quality. I arrived 3 days early to Ushuaia. I was glad to recover from the long journey, I liked the small attractive town and as my luggage didn't arrive from BA it took 2 days to sort out.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
The pristine nature of Antarctica is stunning but still fragile with agreements about it being recently vetoed by Russia and China.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very anxious before. Only excited when I arrived.
