What was your most memorable moment?

All of it was fantastic. We had a great time exploring Buenos Aires. The tours that you set up for us were well worth it. Dinner at Fogon was to die for. The hotel you booked us at Palladillo was a great choicer in a safe neighborhood. I would not recommend the Tango dancing show/dinner. That was not worth the event or the meal. The rest of what you set up for us would be a definite do again. The UltraMarine ship through Quark was first class all the way. The expedition leaders and team where very knowledgeable. I am not one to think I would have enjoyed lectures or the presentations but I truly learned so much. We were not able to prebook the kayaking or paddle boarding but the weather cooperated so Quark added on additional excursions which were worth doing. The highlight for me were the 2 helicopter rides. Everyone gets the first 15 min ride over glaciers etc. Breath taking. The best was a second heli-landing that we were able to win the lottery and got to actually heli land on the continent. The penguins, seals and whales were abundant but the recommendation to extend the trip to include the Falklands, South Georgia to the Antarctic voyage was where most of the animals were located. We were beyond fortunate with the weather as every day (except sea days) was sunny with little wind. The team kept saying how lucky we were. Icebergs 6 or 7 stories tall and the plunge into the Southern ocean made it a trip that will not be forgotten any time soon. Thank you for all your work

Were Swoop right to recommend Quark Expeditions?

Yes

Tell us about the expedition team

Again very knowledgeable, not one to go to lectures but did not miss any. Ross on history was first class. he could talk of the top of his head for an hour and it seemed like 5 minutes. Again everyone was great.

Tell us about the Ultramarine

Yes cabin was large, kept clean. Food was amazing and time to go on a diet

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Take a few days in Buenos Aires, Quark was the ship to go on. We saw a large 1000+ cruise ship and were very glad we did it on Quark. Watching You Tube videos on what to wear etc were worth watching. Same with Swoop's ideas. No real surprises

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Don't really think so. It was what we were hoping for and met all our expectations

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

I would reproduce our itinerary with the exception of the Tango dinner

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

I was very excited and again it was everything I hoped it would be Below I said I would not go back. It had nothing to do with the trip. The trip was beyond perfect but there are so many places to see and experience. Last year we did a 40 trip to Africa and the Seychelles Islands. Again beyond what we hoped for but would not repeat. We have done the Galapagos. Amazing but still so many places to explore. Patagonia is next year and probably New Zealand after that

Would you consider another trip to Antarctica with Swoop?

No

Would you be interested in travelling to Patagonia with Swoop?

Yes

When are you thinking of taking your next trip?

Within 12 months
