We didn’t really have zodiac excursions since we were able to kayak every time there was a zodiac option.

Tell us about the Greg Mortimer
The Greg Mortimer is a great expedition ship. We don’t typically get in ships so we don’t have much of a comparison. It met all our expectations.
Tell us about the Kayaking
An incredible way to see Antartica, experience wildlife and add adventure to a relatively lethargic trip. Kayaking gave us a chance to get moving instead of just sitting in a zodiac or taking short restricted hikes on land. We got both a water and land experience.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Seeing Antarctica is an incredible experience. With all the regulations and rules around protecting this beautiful place, that comes with limitations on what you get to do. I would also add that as a young experienced traveler, the majority of the passengers were much older so any on land experiences had to incorporate their abilities which move quite a bit slower for us. With that, still an amazing experience and we would highly recommend taking the opportunity to visit this amazing place.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I now love and appreciate our oceans even more than I already did.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Make sure to give all the feedback and make sure you fully ask potential passengers about their expectations then talk to them about it. Most, including us, don’t really know what to expect and additional dialogues would have been a better way to learn even more.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Completely prepared and overwhelmingly excited.
