I wish the polar plunge had been held on a fiar weather day...other activities change according to weather, and I would have participated except it was very chilly, breezy, and water a bit rough on last day before dinner. It could have been on first or second days, which were beautiful.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
You don't need two of everything, ex. waterproof pants, long underwear, hats, gloves, etc. Laundry services on boat were excellent. I packed very carefully, but only used one base layer, one set of waterproof pants, etc. I also saw people with luggage that looked too large and heavy; mine was only a 24 lb carryon plus waterproof backpack, whcih wasnt' necessary, either, but Swoop made it sound like it was an absolute requirement.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I remember how much I love to travel, and I have already book NGL in 2027 for Galapagos.
