What was your most memorable moment?
Wow - I honestly can't limit it to one - some of the most memorable include: paddling/kayaking in total silence through sea ice with HUGE incredibly beautiful sculpted icebergs, soaring mountains, brilliant blue sky - just feeling totally in awe; standing at the bow of the ship which is stopped to marvel at the dozens of Fin whales swimming around us - and seeing a huge one just below me in the water - again, I am awestruck; standing on my 7th continent; crossing the polar circle; doing the polar plunge; and celebrating my 76th birthday in Antarctica!

Tell us about the expedition team
Totally brilliant, knowledgeable, funny, caring - they were all just fabulous!!! some lectures did stand out - Nacho and the pooping penguins data - Sydney and her humor/rapport with anything she presented - the historian (can't remember her name!) who has this deadpan humor and is also so engaging - honestly, all of them are really good at what they do! Great slides too.
Tell us about the Paddling
We LOVED the paddling but we were a little confused when we got there because we thought we had signed up for Kayaking. turns out the paddling was a perfect fit for us and we paddled every single time we could! One suggestion is to make it really clear to folks the difference between kayaking and paddling. Special shout outs to Reg, Kris, Aeman, Anula (sp? guide from Poland) - such a great team!!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
All I can say is, if you have ANY desire or interest to go to this most incredible, majestic, magical, vast, part of our planet, GO!!! It's worth every penny and touches your heart and soul in ways you can't even imagine.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I've traveled a lot and this trip more than any other reinforced how small I am and how incredibly beautiful and precious and BIG our world is - and, at the same time, how small it is too - and it's the only place we've got.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Just keep doing what you are doing! You are wonderful:)!
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
With your help and other reading, etc. I did feel pretty prepared and I was very excited to go too - a little nervous, but mostly excited.
