Tell us about Zodiac excursions
LOVED every zodiac excursion and landing. Everyone excursion was different - whether it was looking at penguin colonies, or icebergs, searching for whales or doing a landing and hiking to the top of a volcano crater! All the zodiac drivers had different styles and were experts in different fields, but all were excellent and very informative ... and fun!
Tell us about the expedition team
The whole Expedition Team were outstanding. They were all incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. All very helpful and friendly ... and alot of fun
Tell us about the Ocean Explorer
Cabin was very comfortable with plenty of room. You could turn the heat up in the bathroom which meant and washing you did dried very quickly. All the staff were so attentive and helpful - from cleaning staff, to waiters, to reception. Food was amazing ... in fact it was too good, I'll have to go on a diet when I get home!
Tell us about the Paddling
HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. Its safe and easy to do, even if you haven't paddled before. We loved it so much we did it twice :-) Paddling has you in a group of no more than 5 kayaks, so its quiet and allows you to get so close to the wildlife - it was awesome!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
This trip far exceeded my expectations. The boat was very comfortable, the staff were amazing and they went out of their way to make sure we experienced everything Antarctica has to offer. The jackets they provide are very comfortable and keep you very warm. Also, no need to take hiking poles, as they provide these for you at every landing
