What was your most memorable moment?
I may never forget the initial fear, and then awe of having a humpback whale swim under my kayak! It was amazing to be so close to all the seals, whales, and penguins. I was also thrilled I got to be with my new friend and kayak-mate, Josh, as we came upon a sleeping leopard seal. This moment is what Josh had been waiting for for 15 years and why he took the trip.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Bring a variety of seasickeness medications. I had scopamine and dramamine and those didn't work for me, but I didn't know that until we were underway.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Take those once in a lifetime trips. It gives you perspective on the world (you're so small!) and perspective on your life (I've just got one, what can I do to make it great?!). I was a little nervous about the solo travel, but I'm so so so glad I went.
