Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Outstanding fun! Couldn’t be better! My only suggestion would be to have the guides talk less and let us just take in the landscape and beauty in silence sometimes. You’re there and you want to hear nature, not someone talking the whole time.
Tell us about the expedition team
Outstanding! Friendly! Knowledgeable! We particularly liked Jon, Andrew, Nick, Leza & Ryan as speakers , as their voices were easy to follow and easy to hear. And they were engaging as lecturers. And our expedition leader, Michael, was superb!!!!! And CK was a pure delight!
Tell us about the Silver Endeavour
Such a good ship! Such a good experience, that we’ll find it hard to ever choose a different ship! We’ve already returned once within a year to Antarctica on the Silver Endeavor. And we’re going to East Greenland next with them! Nothing but positive things to say about this ship.
Something Else?
The coordination of travel on the last day with disembarking the ship , flying back to Santiago and catching flights back to the mainland could be improved upon. We sat around for an entire day. Exhausting! Not a great way to end such a spectacular trip! Beyond that though really nothing but rave reviews for this entire experience! Just pure joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Bring waterproof winter gloves, bring a really warm hat that has a earflaps and a visor connected to it, bring high-quality ski goggles as well as sunglasses. Remember, you can do laundry on the ship as often as you want so don’t overpack as there are strict weight restrictions. I also recommend waterproof sneakers for times when you want to be out on the deck, as your mudroom muck boots will be stored down where the zodiacs are , not up in your cabin
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Better coordination, even if you’re not booking the flights for people, better advice about the last day, knowing that the ship sends its passengers back to Santiago at the break of dawn early early early! And most mainland flights are not until late in the evening.
