What was your most memorable moment?

Our voyage was fraught with claims of medical emergency evacuations and deceit by Aurora. One medical emergency shortened our time in the Antarctic. Aurora’s second medical emergency, used the ship and all its occupants as an ambulance, from South Georgia to Stanley, Falklands. This shortened our stay in South Georgia by two days. Once in the Falklands, we stayed two days, until Aurora stepped in with a management decision to shortened our voyage by three days. The limited time spent in the Antarctic, South Georgia and Falklands really overwhelmed the awesome landscape and wildlife of the region.

Were Swoop right to recommend Aurora Expeditions?

No

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Excellent experience. I don’t want to second guess, often they were overly cautious.

Tell us about the expedition team

All team members were knowledgeable, multi-talented, friendly. Shout out to Hanna the historian. The paddling team, all excellent. I felt sorry for Gabby, the expedition team lead. She was caught between the passenger discontent and Aurora’s mismanagement.

Tell us about the Greg Mortimer

Excellent ship, excellent room, excellent food. The crew was the best. Professional, well managed, efficient.

Tell us about the Paddling

We had much fun with the paddling group and team. The paddling team was experienced, safety conscious. We wish we had joined the kayak activity, as that group was active to the end. The paddling activity was the shortest in duration of all the activities. This is something Aurora fails to mention.

Something Else?

Parts of this voyage was excellent. The ship, the food, the crew, the expedition teams, all excellent. All tainted by Aurora’s mismanagement of the voyage and its itinerary.
