Tell us about Zodiac excursions
Zodiac cruises were a challenge for me, at only 5feet tall I had difficulties getting into the boat when we were on shore, but the crew were on hand to give me a hand
Tell us about the expedition team
Extremely knowledgeable and keen to share that knowledge. No question was too much trouble for them. Shout out to the expedition photographer who was very helpful
Tell us about the Sea Spirit
I was in a triple cabin as the single supplement was beyond my budget. This was a challenge as the cabin was small and one of my fellow travelers was a kayaker so , so much equipment.
Something Else?
Very disappointed and annoyed about the hotel booking in Buenos Aires made through a recommendation from Swoop. The hotel was not near the airport, it was a 30 minute transfer away, the room was not ready for me, the swimming pool had limited opening hours, there was no option for an early breakfast and the restaurant was totally unsatisfactory. But the main issue was I was told I was staying at the Holiday Inn, it turned out that it had changed to the Marriot. I spent ages looking for the shuttle bus, and waited over an hour when I finally found out the name change. They didn't provide a transfer to the airport for my Ushuaia airport so I had a large taxi bitt to pay.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Go with an open mind and accept that the weather determines the journey.

Solo travelling isn't for me!

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
There was so much to consider and plan before the trip.......what to take, sea sickness, minimal baggage allowance. Thats the downside, I was so excited to see the scenery, the wildlife and Shackleton's expedition route
