Outstanding.
Tell us about the expedition team
Knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, just terrific. Especially loved the two Hannahs, Jen and Darwin. Fav lecture: Women in Antarctica. First cruise I've ever done where women were not forgotten!
Tell us about the Seaventure
All good. Special shout out to Sergei, in charge of the dining room, who made extra efforts every day to check that there was vegan food for me. Very sweet of him.
Tell us about the Camping
The best part! Crew was a little disorganized in making it happen - where are the shovels? Where do we go? Wait, we're going on a hike now? But the entire experience of sleeping on the ice was incredible.
Tell us about the Paddling
This was just OK. We only got to kayak once (Discover program) and it was mostly sitting still in the water and not paddling. We wanted to move, explore, and get more exercise.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
This was a Xmas trip. I didn't think to bring holiday clothing and decorations, but others did. Wish I had. Also I followed instructions to bring minimal clothing and do laundry, but most other people had large suitcases and didn't need to.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Learned a lot about the beautiful continent!
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
Very.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Team was friendly and generally helpful, except in the weeks prior to the trip when it was hard to get my questions answered.
