The pristine nature of the environment and the life that lives there. Very appreciative of seeing a land where human impact is negligible.

Yes, felt completely safe and in good hands. Very professional crew all around.
Tell us about the expedition team
Claudia is outstanding as a leader and in sharing her experiences in Antarctica. She set the tone and was always involved in executing an enjoyable excursion for everyone. I would definitely go on another expedition cruise with her.
Tell us about the Silver Wind
The ship is 30 years old but well maintained and we had no issues. The food was excellent, the staff outstanding and very personable and professional. Easy to go back on the ship and with the same staff. Silversea should be commended strongly for them being able to pull off these expeditions in challenging conditions.
Tell us about Santiago
Much more modern than I expected. The food at some of the restaurants was the best food I have ever had. It was a totally unexpected pleasure to experience. We felt safe in the areas that we were lodged in and I think that is the most important thing for anyone who travels.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
I would recommend Swoop to get the options available and the pros and cons of each. There are many competing cruise lines and I think there must be an easier way for a potential client to go through them. I think that the website can be improved for registered clients to look at their information. When I hit Swoop Antarctica, I often got a generic website. This required me to go to the website, that Heather and Ale used, on my email to find my registered information.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
My daughter and I are very happy that we were able to experience such a magical place together. We realize how fortunate we are to have done so and I hope others can follow.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Team members I interacted with, Heather and Alexandra, were wonderful. I mentioned above that I thought website could be improved for ease of registered clients. I greatly appreciate all of the personal input and suggestions that allowed us to have a very memorable trip.
How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?
I really did not know what to expect but I watched several YouTube videos, read your information on the website, and did not experience any negative surprises. It was a great trip.
