Tell us about Zodiac excursions
An Orca swam, VISIBLY, under our zodiac, from one side and then up out of the water on the other side. Yes, a little fear, but mostly deep appreciation. This is kind of about the Expedition Team: In the beginning, they and the Able Seamen, trained us. Sailors grip, step, sailors grip, step, wait, grab the ship, step and in. They were EXTREMELY capable people and I had/have COMPLETE confidence in them. I did not just enjoy, I was blown away. Still can't believe it was true.
Tell us about the expedition team
Loved the diversity of academic backgrounds, experiences, personalities, languages and nationalities! I think I was at every lecture and took notes for most. Particularly loved the lectures on drifters/zooplankton/diatoms/etc and turbidite/etc. I really appreciated that they mingled with us and that someone was always available. Best regards to Marcel, Sid, Lu, Yvonne, Jodi, Enric, Tiphanie, Jade, Michael, Sasha, Andy, Jakub, Jerry, Hana, Mark, Simon, Pierre and our doctor Geerte!
