What was your most memorable moment?
Sitting in the zodiac with two humpback whales blowing a spiral of feeding bubble just a couple of metres away from us and then coming out of the water, diving back down a their flukes coming clearly out of the water. Then another occasion when a humpback whales swan up to us and under our zodiac. I also have to mention the occasion when just myself and hubby were in the zodiac with two expedition team members and we got up close and personal with two ice burgs. The polar plunge was pretty memorable also

The expedition team had safety of the guests at heart and the protection of the wildlife at the forefront of their consciousness at all times. Being in the zodiacs with humpback whales and giant ice burgs just metres away was incredible

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?
Enjoy every minute. Take lots of photos
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I was aware of the environmental issues in the Antarctic and the Sylvia Earle lecture and movie we watched reinforced my concerns. My husband and I become fully vegetarians during the expedition after watching these. We had been pescatarians for several years
