Yes

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

Great. Very well organised with great briefing. You always felt safe and that you knew what was going to happen.

Tell us about the expedition team

Really outstanding. the leader, Mark, was completely brilliant. He managed the whole itinerary, with the inevitable constant changes of plan due to the weather, with a confident good humour. He was a great story teller and always smiling and endlessly cheerful. Always available and happy to chat. His bubbly enthusiasm to totally infectious. The rest of his team was also excellent. Lots of great talks, very informative, but always with a lightness and sense of humour.

Tell us about the Sylvia Earle

Completely brilliant ship. Clearly very new with excellent facilities, super helpful and cheerful staff.

Tell us about Santiago

Santiago was a great city and we enjoyed our 2 days there. The half day tour you arranged was good rather than great.

Something Else?

I have already spoken to you about your one big mess up. We had arranged for a car to meet us when we arrived in Santiago to take us to the hotel. I'd had confirmation of this but it was never actually booked. this led to a stressful 60 minutes at the airport when we arrived trying to find out what was happening and making various calls to Chile and the UK. In the end we just got a taxi. For me this was a serious error but you and made the start of the trip very stressful.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Antarctica?

Definitely do it, fly the Drake, go with a flexible mindset, the weather is always a challenge and plans constantly change. Or flight out and back to King George Island were changed at the last minute due to weather. However, the Aurora team on the ship and in Punta Arenas dealt with both excellently.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Definitely have a greater appreciation for the wonder of Antarctica.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Generally excellent, but don't mess up logistics!!!!

How prepared and excited for Antarctica did you feel?

Very, both.
