What was your most memorable moment?

I still have a post trip "buzz" and there are simply too many memorable moments to recall on my month long trip to Patagonia and Antarctica - hiking onto the Grey Glacier looking into the Patagonian ice sheet, seeing the Torres del Paine or Fitzroy ranges in the flesh for the first time, or being blown away by the sheer size and immensity of the Antarctic glaciers and ice sheets and the abundance of whales and wildlife. Moving doesn't describe it.

Were Swoop right to recommend Aurora Expeditions?

Yes

Tell us about Zodiac excursions

The zodiac trips were outstanding. The focus on safety was always a priority. As an experienced outdoorsman and former head of operations at a major North American railway, I had nothing but admiration for how the team ensured the safety and well being of the passengers. From the briefings to the "hands on" time on the field, we were well cared for. Hats off to our head of Zodiac operations - Nacho - whose engaging direction, instruction and ovesight was top notch(o)! 😆

Tell us about the expedition team

As I noted before, the expedition team was outstanding. They were super experienced, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging. They made the cruise. It is interesting to note that many of the ETeam are contractors and free agents and many commented on how they like working for Aurora. This is significant that Aurora can attract this kind of talent. It was an exceptional team. I only wish they boasted of their individual and collective experience more - many were too modest. (It is a sales opportunity!) Hats off to expedition leader Catherine who assembled a great team and whose experience and knowledge made everyone confident they were in good hands. Also noteworthy: - Alesha who kept us all in line and was responsive and enthusiastic at all times - Nacho - head of Zodiac operations - whose focus on safety and ensuring a positive experience was top notch(o)! He earned his moniker - Nachonal Geographic! - Antoine and Jay whose presentations on history and natural sciences were entertaining and informative - hats off guys - you should take the show on the road! - Darren and Mac whose prior life experiences and knowledge were incredible and made for safe, informative and fun experiences camping, snorkeling etc - Gregory - whose mastery of citizen science and wildlife and botany were outstanding - and fun - Happy whale lady - you know who you are! - and hats off to Adrian, Gabriel, AT, Dave, Dan, Fi and Allen as well as the rest of the team - well done The ease with which the team worked and interacted was seamless. They were organized, well coordinated and executed without any hitches. The mutual respect and constant professionalism was notable.

Tell us about the Greg Mortimer

Everything about the ship was previously covered but to recap it, was modern, stable, safe, clean, well equipped and thoughtfully laid out and appointed. The cabins were great. Of course this is a reflection not only of the company but the crew and staff who make it all work!

Something Else?

I think I've said it all - too marks to Aurora and its team! Well done.
